Stokely Carmichael walks with Dr. King in the March Against Fear, June 1966. I find Stokely’s complicated relationship with the Civil Rights movement fascinating, from a philosophical and political standpoint.  Peniel Joseph gives a good iteration of what Carmichael meant by “Black Power,” the term he coined, and the difference between what his philosophy was, how it was perceived and what it became as a movement.
